The Breakfast We can now offer you our home-made bread which is not like the typical Thai bread, what you find all over Thailand where you will find it quite sweet and light. Since November 1998 Sang Tong Huts has got its first own baking oven. So we can bake our own bread and cakes. Our home made jam, an invention of Babs, mixed passion fruits, pineaples and lemmons, you will never forget when you have tried it, it is delicious. From our choices of breakfast menu, you will find the starting of you day quite smooth: If you want to start the day simple, choose our "Spartacus" with bread, jam and butter. Even this simple one is delicious.
If you feel like to be a little bit French, take the "french kisses", warm croissants with jam and butter. Dreaming about breakfast in America you should try our "Supertramp", eggs scrambled or friend with ham/bacon, tomatoes and onions. If your body askes for roughage and vitamins the "Vitalis" will be serverd. That is a creation of Toe, a very nice muesli with fresh fruits, honey and homemade yoghurt. And don´t forget the beloved Bananapancake, fruitsalad and ..... During the season we also try to get some specials, like cheese .....
The coffee. We make fresh for you. We support a hilltribe project and serve only the "Hilltribe coffee". It is a 100% Arabica coffee. With our espresso maschine, imported from Italy, you can have a nice cappuciono or espresso. It is a pity that we don´t have such a good source for good tea, so you can have the Lippton tea, or try some local tea from Mae Aw, the Chinese village next to the Burmese border, where we get Halong tea and green tea.
During The Day Whenever you are hungry during daytime you can ask Pau what they have or choose from our menue, like friend rice, friend noodles, sandwiches ......

Dinner The dinner time is the time to come together. Our guests sit dwon on our long table and wait what th chef cooked today. Pau, our chief cook, will prepare three or four dishes of fine Thai cousine, your choices or what she likes to cook that evening. Pau is a master of Northern Thai and Thai yai food. You can also help her prepare and watch her while she is cooking, or you can jump in it too if you feel like it. This is the charm of this kitchen.
Delicious soups, spicy curries, chicken with garlic and pepper, omlett filled with herbs and minced meat, Geang Hang Lee, the Northern Thai Gulasch, are only some of the dish, our guests are filling the stomage up with. Pau will care also if you can not eat spicy food or you are a vegetarian. Foods are served around 7.30 to 8:00 p.m. each evening, please tell us in advance if you want to join.
The Baker´s Since Sang Tong Huts has got a real western oven in November 98, we start baking our own cakes and bread, eventhough the ingredients are quite difficult to get. We started with an apple cake, old German style and in second version, translated into Thai it became a pineapple-coconut cake. After a while we have got bored doing the same thing so we tried differnt recepies like fruitsaladcake, bananacake and so on
Pau really enjoyed it, learning new recepies and also likes to eat the cakes by herself. Also the Thai people of Mae Hong Son found out that the Europian cakes are very deliciuos and start to order them on some special occassions like parties or birthdays.
Sometimes we got a bit homesick about our western food. We tried to bake Pizz´s in our oven, but the result was not satisfying. So we decided to built our own Pizza oven, the same style like at the Italian restaurant. So if you feel like having a little bit a taste of home, no problem, with our oven we can make a nice grispy pizza for you and then Sang Tong Huts become Pizza Hut. As Babs like to cook very much, she prepares a european dinner for you, if you feel like. As Mae Hong Son is far away from european food supply, she has to use her phantasy to replace some ingredients she might not get here. But that´s fun.
