It was named and roughly designed by Janjira and Toe, in Nuernberg,
in the beginning of February 20001, long before the real Pentagon
in Washington was crashed in September the same year. Janjira came
every year to Nürnberg to attend Nürnberg the world's biggest Toy fair.
This hut has the shape of Pentagon to replace the old hut which
we called it hut 5 or the fifth hut we have built from the beginning.
The former hut 5 was very small and built on the slope of the hill
overlooking the paddy field. In order to have enough space for the
living area, we have to dig a lot of dirt out by using 5 people for
almost a month to dig it to make space for an underground bathroom
and toilet.

Interior design and details, of course, Babs took over
from me. As you know, it is the woman department for this and you
have to let her go. She can describe the details for you now by
herself:
The construction starts on May 5th. Ngai, our bricklayer and man for
the bathrooms started. Around the walls we had to make a trenage with
small rocks to protect from water during the rainysaision.
10 trucks with gravel stones passed by and the stones had to be hand
carried down to Pentagon. In july the walls and main construction was
finished and the carpenters should start to work. But where is the
carpenter, many looked, but haven't been seen again. Toe got
crazy, but I told him, my Dear this is Thailand and it was always
like this. So finally an old carpenter came, which we used for Tree
Tops before.

Pentagon was the frist house for which we made a real construction
plan, with all details in it. As we were not there all the time
the result sometimes was a little bit different, then it has to be
change again, I lost my face again, but it is ok.
When we were not in Sang Tong Huts Muk took over the management, so
the rail for the balcony is not a string construction, like it was
planed, instead of we have a metall rail with three layers of colour on.

Many e-mail and drawings went back and forth until the sofa came
out like it is now. I wanted to have a sofa on which you can sit
nicely and is also confortable for small nap.

Here you can see the balustrade with the banch in the front.
From our journey to India in October 2001 we brought that carpet
in the back on the wall.

This bathroom hasn't been easy. First they delivered the
wrong ceramics, cause in Thailand they mesured in inches and
not in cm like me. To give them back is also not possible so we
had to order them new. After two weeks it was possible to start.
Ngai
didn't like my pattern, too much work and cutting, but in
the end it came out quite nice.
