La Nightshift (pardon only in English)

The Nightshift was built in the year 2005 and is a common production of German and Thai. It is our only hut with two separate beds, located near Charlies Hut.

Inspired by a visit of the Tamarind Village in Chiang Mai, we thought, it is time to built a new house.
We started planing and designing, made drawings and send it to Thailand, so Telu and our workers could start to built, which they did. But there were some missunderstanding, so when we came back, it was not what we like to have. So we had to change some parts, like the roof. Unluckely our freelance workers where bussy with other projects, so they had time for us only in the evening. They came around 5 p.m. and worked until midnight. So this is why the hut became the name Nightshift.

The construction of this house is a combination of mansonry, bamboo and teakwood, which conects the classic with modern style.
At the front wall we installed classic thai movable windows made from teakwood, at the backside at the living and sleeping area we have glaswindows.
The two beds we have made from bricks, painted white, there is a large bedside-table with readinglight inbetween.
Also for the floor we made a combination of teakwood and cement.

Opposite the sleeping area, we have a small teakwood writing table, a slight door, which separates the bathroom. A masonry locker with teakwood/bamboo doors completes the room.

As in all the other huts we focus on the design of the bathroom. It is devided in three parts: western toilett, lavatory and shower.
The lavatory was designed and built by Babs. He used round bricks for the base and a wooden bowl as a basin. Next to it you have a glas shelve for your personal belongings and decrative items.
The shower cabin has a hot water system, which completes the bathromm
For the floor we choose terracotta-tiles in combination with glazed tiles.

At the backside of the house we have a large and very private loggia all over, a perfect place to relax. An brick banch and a classic teakwood banch invites you to sit or lay down, both decorated with coosy cushions. The table for your drinks or candles is in colonial style.
The view to the forrest ratiates a peacefull atmosphere.
