The Hacienda was originally built in 2000 for one of our stuff and her family. After she moved out, we restored the house completly in 2007 and designed it new. the idea was to have a house were a family or friends can stay together in two serapate sleeping rooms and a nice living room on the groundfloor A classic Thaihouse wih a cement groundfloor and a teak-bamboo frist floor. The wooden slight windows gives a cool breath. |

It was more difficult to find the right name, then built it. First we thought about Pool-Hut,
cause of its location next to the pool, but we didnīt like the name. So we remember an
old tradtion, the name of the first guest. It was a Spanish family, but they all had nordic names,
so not much of a help, but anyway from Spain came Hacienda. Gowi, Telu and our other workers worked very hard to slightly modify and redesign the house into a classic Thai house with western comfort. The last touch it gets from Babs decoration

The groundfloor is made ot of bricks and cement, so it has a laquered floor. The rest is a teakconstruction with woven bamboo At the beginning andend of the big living room you have possibilities to rest, like a brikelayered sofa, with cushions. The fabrics are from India, typical Thai teakwooden chairs and a special designed table, which we found in Chiang Mai, as well as floorcushions from Isaan. For the light and airbreath we have made slide windows in traditional Nothern-Thai style, all around. |
|
There is also a big fridge and a hotwater kettle for making tea to complete your comfort. The bathroom is also located on the groundfloor. The desk should inspire you to write or paint, or just sit down and write some postcards.

The bathroom on the groundfloor was pulled down in May 2008 as it was too small for four people. Babs wanted to have a really big bathroom and it should be totally different to the otheres, so it has around 20 qm. This time Babs used a new typ of ceramics made from sandstone and mixed it with some dark brown decor tiles in the shower area and the washing place.
The long washingtable is made with bricks and a wooden top where two differnt washing basins are loceted. On the side is a shelf
for towels and storage for your personal things. |

Cause of a misstake during the construction work only a flat floor came out with no slope at the shower section. So we had the problem
that the water would splash everywhere if we would install a normal shower, we needed a shower with slow rinsing water. The solution
was a raindance shower in combination with a handshower. On both sides of the wall and the roof top we installed windows with milky glass for a natural lightning. Out of a big ceramic pot we made a table for the shower equipment. Plants, pictures and some wodden status are further decoration items. |

In the tradition of a Thaihouse the major material on the topfloor is teakwood and bamboo. The are made from woven bamboo, for the roof
we used again leafs from the ding tree on a bamboo construction. The whole floor of the upper section is teakwood. A delighted stairway is the conection between the two floors. The trough going veranda is devided in two sections for each sleeping room. For relaxing you have cushions from Isaan. Shinging through curtains give you more privacy. You have a good overlook to the garden and what going on at the pool |

One sleeping room has a kingsize bed, made of teakwood, with a mosquitonet, small tables beside
the bed, a banch and a hanger for your clothings. There is a glass window towards the veranda, on
the other side you have again slide windows, thai style. We also put a small bay with a little sofa. |
|
|
The second room is a bit more simple and has 2 seperate beds in a teakwood frame on the floor, with mosquitonets, a small table
and a hanger. As well as in the first room we have glaswindows to the varanda and slide windows
on the side. |
| Next to the entrance we have set up a small terrace with teak chiars and a banch. In front of the house is a nice lotuspawn. |
