Charlie’s Hut

Charlie’s Hut Charlie’s Hut was built in 1997.
Before building this hut six old big teak posts were given to us by the deputy govenor of Mae Hong Son, the reason why Charlie’s had the hexagon shape without the middle post, because we have no extra post at that time and we want to have it that shape. This hut was the first construction project between Babs and Toe.
It was designed to satisfy the new type of travellers comming to visit Thailand and want to have higher standard of accomodations.
When we finished we have no name for it yet. But we have said, whoever stayed there first we will name the hut after. Fortunately, our dog Charlie was the first one who slept there. And the name came after.
Charlie’s Hut The walls of Charlie’s Hut are made of wovened bamboos, the roof of thin dry grasses, but the main structure and the floor are teak wood. Beside the glasswindows we also use the classic Thai movable windows made of wood, which are very useful for the flow of the air.
Charlie’s Hut The interior of Charlie’s Hut has everything to make you feel comfortable even for a longer stay. It has a double bed, down pillows and blankets, Rattan chairs and sofa, a writing table with a view to the garden, refridgertor etc.
The roomy bathroom is equiped with hot and cold shower, with western styled toilet, decorated with white and blue ceramics.

Charlie’s Hut The front door of the hut can be fully opened to the terrace with a nice laying rattan chair, you will have a nice view to the garden. A perfect place to lay down and relax.
